Birchbox

To me, a considerate and thoughtful gift goes a long way. This doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune to impress someone or buy something elaborate to show how much you care, but I think it’s important to keep in mind a person’s interests, hobbies and personality when searching for the perfect gift. There’s nothing worse than a gift-giver who buys something just because they like it and disregards the other person! When I was told by a friend that she was giving me a Birchbox as a thank you gift a few weeks ago, I was ecstatic for my box to come. For those of you who haven’t heard about Birchbox, prepare to fall in love. The up and coming brand can be given as a gift to someone else or yourself and works by signing up to receive a box shipped to your house with samples of products. From here, you give whatever is in your box a mini review online and fill out a personal chart with some information about your beauty interests, hair color/type and skin type, etc. After you submit your reviews and personal chart, your ratings and information is reviewed and processed by the experts at Birchbox and your next box (they come once a month depending on your subscription), has products that they think you’ll enjoy. They are always sample sizes, so this way if you’re sent something that you don’t like you aren’t stuck with a full size. The downside to Birchbox is that you might never have anything in your box that you actually like, so this is something to keep in mind. However, there’s something about not knowing what you’re going to get that is definitely a little thrilling (especially for a product lover like myself).

My Birchbox is expected to ship on the 17th, so I’ll be posting reviews and pictures of the box as soon as it arrives.
