Macaron

July 12, 2011

A few weeks ago, a friend introduced me to my new favorite spot to fulfill a macaron craving in the city. Walking into the adorable little cafe, (which is conveniently named Macaron), instantly makes me feel like I’m in a European bar about to settle down for an afternoon treat.

Last night, my friends and I ventured over to Macaron in hopes of trying some of their delicious sounding sandwiches (on a baguette of course), and picking up some macarons for dessert on our way to a movie in Bryant Park. To our dismay, they were almost completely sold out of sandwiches by 6:30 and we were out of luck. For anyone in the neighborhood [485 7th Ave, Entrance of 36th Street] the absolutely delectable macaron’s are light and creamy yet bursting with flavor in such a small treat.

Two weeks ago I also tried La Maison Du Macaron which is pictured above [132 West 23rd Street] and while I have to admit that they win as far as interior design of the store and overall presentation of the food are concerned, the macaron’s were just a bit under par compared to Macaron.
