Incognito Rain Boots

November 3, 2010

Maybe I’m the only one, but I’m tired of seeing rain boots that look so…obvious. Cole Hann really hit it right on this season introducing what I’ve decided to call “incognito rain boots.”  I  have to say, this picture really doesn’t do these boots any justice. In person, the patent leather paired with the subtle gold hardware made for an elegant, yet understated boot. Sounds like the perfect combo to turn any rainy day outfit into a fashion statement.

When my mom and I saw these in the Cole Hann store on Monday we gravitated toward the black at first. But under different lighting, we found that the purple almost transformed colors depending on what it was paired with. Most people really underestimate what a perfect neutral the right shade of purple can be. A deep plum, like the one above in the boots looks amazing when it’s paired with a light, or even deep grey, brown, a hunter green (if done the right way), and of course, black. *Note how that shade of plum compliments the black and grey boots* The tall boots would look amazing tucked into leggings and paired with a dress. When paired with jeans, my mom and I found that the short boots look almost like a chic flat.  Cole Hann has my approval for a go-to rain outfit this season.
