Wine Time

October 20, 2010

The process of making wine is one that takes great patience. Weeks of picking the right grapes, crushing, and fermenting are followed by months of waiting until the grapes are finally wine. My family has been making wine for years and it’s a tradition that I hope to continue to carry out when I’m older.

At our family’s farm we have a wine cellar and room to make the wine full of complex looking equipment. The process is really quite interesting and started for my family about 3 weeks ago when the grapes were first crushed. The grapes will sit in the vat until around April (usually I know when it’s time for the wine to finish because Easter is getting close). From Charbono, to Oak Blend, Cabernet, Zinfandel and Merlot, my family has a wide selection of homemade wines in our cellar from over the years.
