His N’ Hers

October 18, 2010

Harper’s Bazaar UK’s October 2010 edition featured an editorial and shoot on “His n’ Hers,” (which is where I got the above quote from in my collage). This idea of cross gender dressing certainly isn’t anything new, and usually I don’t like how the looks turn out. Personally, I don’t think the Bazaar shoot did such a thorough job at combining both looks that a typical man or women would wear, I felt each look was too one-sided. Above I tried to combine individual pieces that I felt fell perfectly between feminine and masculine. I was especially in love with the Moschino Cheap & Chic dress that I though had a perfect blend of tuxedo feel on the top, and soft lines complete with a mid-section bow to divide the look. You can’t see the full photo in the collage, but the two-tone oxford wedge is so classic in full view and with some ribbed tights and un petit chapeau, (a little hat), you will successfully master the “his n’ hers” look.
